Head coach of Nigeria’s D’Tigers Ogor Odaudu has expressed their intention to bounce back from their poor run of form. He believes that the best way to show it is to return to winning ways using the upcoming Pre-Olympic qualifying tournament as a springboard. The tournament is scheduled to hold between the 14th of August – 20th of August, 2023.

 “We want to start winning now, and with the calibre of personnel on the team, it is very achievable”, he said.

Nigeria is drawn in Group A alongside Mali and Senegal. The winner of the competition will take a place in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments next year.

Ahead of this, Nigeria’s Basketball Federation ( NBBF) has released the final roster for the championship, with the number of players reduced from 15 to 12.

Final Roster:

Michael Eric (Captain), Chimezie Metu, EJ Anosike Daniel, Utomi,Ike Ndugba, UC Iroegbu, Victor Ezeh, Michael Okiki, Mike Nuga, Kaodirich Akobundu-Ehiogu, Godwin Omenaka, Ibe Agu.
