Fulham have agreed a fee with Everton for Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi worth £22m. The 27-year-old midfield sensation has already scheduled a medical examination for later today, and it is anticipated that all the contracts will be finalized prior to tonight’s transfer deadline.
Iwobi became a part of Everton’s roster during the summer of 2019, following his contribution to Nigeria’s third-place finish in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. Despite the high expectations and the substantial transfer fee associated with his signing, many felt that he did not meet the initial hype during his early years at Goodison Park.
Iwobi made appearances in all 38 Premier League matches during the 2022-2023 season for Everton, and he managed to deliver a remarkable seven assists, the highest within the club.
Recognizing his invaluable contribution, Iwobi earned the title of Everton’s Player of the Year. His outstanding performance played a pivotal role in helping Everton avoid relegation on the season’s last day.
Fulham is eager to strengthen their offensive lineup after striker Aleksandar Mitrovic’s £46 million transfer to Saudi Pro League powerhouse Al-Hilal this summer.
