Despite  speculations linking them with a move from the club in recent weeks, the Super Eagles duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi sealed qualification for the foxes in a match that saw “Senior Man Kelz” grab the Man of the Match award.

With just six minutes in, Marc Albrighton found an unmarked Kelechi Iheanacho in the six-yard area, and the Nigerian forward finished it off with a clever back heel flick to send Blackman rooted to the spot.

And with halftime just around the corner, the former City forward made a dashing run into the box after he was set clear on goal. but after beating both his marker and the goalkeeper, Iheanacho found his country man, Ndidi who hammered it first time into the roof of the net.

Leicester City advance to the second round of the Carabao Cup after dispatching third-tier side Burton Albion at Pirelli Stadium last night. They will now face Tranmere Rovers in the second round of the Carabao Cup at Prenton Park during the week commencing 28 August.
